This is the photo we turn into your paint by numbers kit.
Cover the table, set good lighting, keep water and a paper towel nearby. Lightly iron the canvas on low (no steam) or tape it flat to a board.
2
Organize paints & match numbers
Open one color at a time to prevent drying. If thick, add a drop of water and mix. Keep lids closed when not in use.
3
Start smart
Work from top-to-bottom (or left-to-right if right-handed) to avoid smudges. Many painters begin with the background or darker areas for easy progress.
4
Use the right brush for the area
Small brush for tiny cells; larger brush for big areas. Glide the tip—don’t press or splay bristles. Cover numbers fully; add a second coat after drying if needed.
5
Rinse & dry between colors
Swirl in water, wipe on a towel until clean, then paint the next color. A barely damp brush gives cleaner edges.
6
Let sections dry
Acrylic dries fast—about 10–20 minutes depending on thickness. Touch up gaps or streaks once dry.
7
Store in-progress work
Close paint pots firmly; wipe rims so they reseal. Keep paints upright and the canvas flat.
8
Finish & frame
After 24 hours, optionally seal with a clear acrylic varnish (matte or gloss). Then frame and enjoy!
Pro tips
If a paint is too thick, add a single drop of water and mix. If too thin, use two light coats.
Mist closed paint pots lightly with water if you’re painting for a long session to slow drying.
For tiny areas, a toothpick or fine liner brush can help hit small corners cleanly.
Use daylight or a neutral white lamp so colors look true.
Love this. My first kit from Paintly and I just started. Big difference in the canvas which is heavier and the diamonds are not cheap but actually heavier. I am so excited to complete this and purchase another.
I did this diamond for a friend of mine. We’re going to take it and get it framed, it came out beautifully. And it was a very entertaining picture to do just because of all the colors. I love it.
It was my very first time ever trying paint by numbers. I got the intermediate one and kinda wish I had gotten the beginner with less paints. Overall though, I’m happy with it
Coming from the North woods of Michigan, where Sasquatch is rumored to visit, I totally enjoyed doing this whimsical camping scene. I had fun as more and more of the picture was revealed. It was very detailed and colorful. Well worth the time it took me to do it..... but it's the actual process of working on it that fills my day, and relaxes me.
It was a pleasure working on this little canvas. Printing was very clear and the square drills were nice and clean with no imperfections. Loved the final canvas look.
I ended up getting 76 colors and it turned out great! The only negative i would say is that the light colors had to be painted twice to cover the lines and numbers but there was plenty of paint so not really a big issue. I probably wouldn't purchase again simply because of the price but it turned out beautifully!
Positives the painting is coming out better than expected. The flowers are sensational to paint and when finished look super fantastic.
Negatives. Some of the paints were dry and I haven’t figured out how to get rid of the white dots in the background with the darker colors
On my first delivery, sadly few of paint containers arrived opened in the bag it was it in. I contacted the costumer service about it. A few hours only later, i got an answer. New paints were sent to me freely and rapidly. This time, everything was perfect. The canvas looks great and the possibility of modifying the image was a first for me. Really looking toward doing this one and hanging it in my home.
I was very happy with the painting, I was a bit nervous it would be pixelated or lacking detail but it looks amazing.
Little bit hard to see lines sometimes but a relaxing and fun experience.
Adam( their customer service rep) helped put this custom PBN together for me from several photos. I am very pleased with what he did. Took a while to finish but very happy with it.
As you can see this is still a work in progress. I am enjoying creating this diamond painting. The canvas is excellent quality. The drills are also excellent quality with sparkle. This canvas had made me a fan of Paintly. The wait is a bit long but well worth the wait. The discounts are a bonus and keep me coming back. Great quality at a great price? Oh yeah! I'm a fan!
Turned out amazing and I can’t wait to hang it up! Took me about 3.5 weeks and I listened to podcasts while painting, which has been super calming and relaxing. I had to go over 2-3 times with some of the lighter colors but I didn’t mind it too much.
