The sharper and brighter your photo, the more vivid your finished diamond painting will look. We recommend at least 1000×1000 px. Our team will optimize it before production.
Drill Shape
Square Drills
Precise mosaic finish with sharp edges. Tiles snap together seamlessly for a full-coverage, no-gap result. Best for detailed designs.
Round Drills
Easier placement with a softer sparkle. More forgiving for beginners — drills don't need exact alignment. Great for larger canvases.
Larger sizes show more detail and sparkle. Smaller sizes are quicker to complete — perfect for gifts or your first project.

Without Frame
Canvas only — frame it yourself or display with mounting tape.

How to Diamond Paint
Time: 8–30 hrs (varies by size)Skill: Beginner-friendlyNo paint or water needed
1
Set up your workspace
Find a flat, well-lit surface. Lay the canvas out and keep it flat — don't peel the protective film off all at once.
2
Read the color legend
Match each symbol on the canvas to its drill color using the reference chart. Sort your drill bags so you can find colors quickly.
3
Peel a small section of film
Only expose a small area at a time — the adhesive stays tacky longer and dust won't settle on uncovered sections.
4
Load the applicator pen
Press the pen tip into the wax pad. Pour one drill color into the grooved tray and shake gently so drills sit right-side-up.
5
Place drills on the canvas
Pick up a drill with the pen and press it onto the matching symbol on the canvas. Work one color at a time for speed — or section by section for variety.
6
Press drills down to seal
Once a section is complete, lay a flat object (book or rolling pin) over it and press gently. This locks drills firmly into the adhesive.
7
Store between sessions
Re-cover exposed areas with the protective film or parchment paper. Seal leftover drills back into their bags to keep organized.
8
Seal & frame your masterpiece
Once finished, seal with a clear craft sealant to lock drills permanently. Frame it and show off your sparkle!
Pro tips
Re-dip the pen in wax every 10–15 drills — fresh wax gives a stronger pick-up.
Use the multi-placer pen tip for large single-color areas to speed things up.
Tweezers are perfect for nudging a misplaced drill without disturbing neighbors.
Work under a daylight lamp so drill colors match the legend accurately.
If the adhesive loses tack, dab a tiny amount of craft glue on the spot before placing the drill.

Creating diamond art from a photo of a 40+ year old cross stitch tapestry. This is the largest project I’ve done so far and it’s going slowly but I’m excited about how it’s going. I like how the drills are in ziplock bags instead of plastic packets, easier for me to use and reusable when I’m finished.
It’s beautiful!! Arrived in great time and the colors were almost perfect. The dog was more brown than the submitted photo but still lovely. Looking forward to ordering another.
My first ever custom diamond painting. Having ordered from paintly already I was finally confident enough to try a custom. Im so happy with how it turned out, although I possibly could have gone bigger to retain more of the graffiti detail on the loco, I feel this gives an excellent detailed finish for such a manageable size.
Drills were shiny with zero trash. Canvas soft, symbols clear. Plenty of drills left over. Husband loves this diamond painting of him hard at work - he's the teeny orange blob driving :-)
Paintly has never disappointed me yet, and has fast become my go-to for diamond paintings.
Im very pleased with this kit!!! The canvas, drills, and frame are good quality and its got good stick to it. My son and his husband are going to love it, as its a gift for their anniversary. Will definitely purchase from them again.
I love the way this turned out. The colors are vibrant and as true to the original picture as DMC colors could match. I have two more to go to finish this set, already thinking about what else to create. The entire process from start to finish was smooth, the kit was packaged well, the canvas had clear symbols and I never had to worry about running out of a color.
Work in progress. My first diamond painting kit and I couldn’t be more pleased with the results. Colors are vibrant, the drills are uniform, and once I got past the learning curve the project has gone quickly. Looking forward to more.
I was very happy with how my pictures came out. My first time using Paintly and was extremely satisfied with how the pictures came out. Have recommended Paintly for people to use for their pictures.
First apperence it looks amazing i have not had a chance to start the diamond painting yet. I will be able to start in next few days and will write another review and add pics of how it turned out
I thought it was absolutely amazing my dog recently passed away and I wanted to make a remembrance picture of him the only thing I wish is what I would have used AI to take away the Flash I had to use my own beads for the eyes because his eyes were black not blue but it wasn't your fault it was my picture that I should have fixed other than that it was absolutely amazing
